Too fat? Too broke? Too old?

Here’s a little story for you, just to light up your day…

Today, I’m working privately with a beautiful couple to help them launch their “Conscious Relationship World Tour“.

… Because they are inspired to show people that you are not too old, too fat, too broke, too ugly, or too anything else to have a deeply fulfilling loving relationship.

And it’s really touching to see how committed they are to getting this message out to the world.

Why?

Because I get lit up by people who stand in their truth and take bold steps forward to share their life experiences and wisdom with others.

… And because they are totally willing to share their own authentic story of transformation.

Which is WHY I got inspired to write this note to you.

You see, people come to me all the time and ask “how did you become so successful so quickly?

I mean, I literally went from losing thousands of dollars every month to often making $50k (or more) a month in less than a year.

… And while I could come up with lots and lots of reasons and teaching points for why, one of the CORE ingredients for my success was my willingness to share my own authentic stories of transformation.

Because people are much more willing to trust, listen, and ultimately invest in you when they believe you are real.

So when you’re thinking about what to say in a video, email, or when you’re speaking to an audience LIVE…

… Consider just telling your own stories of transformation.

Because people will respect you, and honor you, for being transparent and vulnerable.

And if your experiences are anything like mine, people will probably resonate with you more deeply as well.

… and that will give you a real boost of inspiration to keep moving forward.

Cool?

If you’re inspired, please share your thoughts right below.

Here’s my fancy headline to inspire you to read this post

There’s so much happening in this post that I couldn’t think of a better headline to inspire you to read this letter than that….so there ya go.

3 important things to share with you in this very personal post (plus a great story at the bottom):

ONE: what I learned from our last Sold-Out Seminar that’s cool and helpful for you (this is six-figure support).

TWO: what you’ll get from me over the next few months (you’re gonna dig it).

THREE: get to your big WHY and you’ll get gold (you’ll see what I mean below).

Sold-Out Seminar Secrets Live Event…The Recap

Ok.

So we just finished our biggest, most powerful, most profitable (way beyond six figures), and most enjoyable event of our existence…Sold-Out Seminar Secrets.

We had just under 100, awesome, heart-centered, hungry, passionate, and deeply committed Enlightened Entrepreneurs in attendance.

And just a few of the many highlights were:

*** My dad (Dr. David Simon) making a special guest appearance on Thursday night to talk about what he’s experiencing as he embraces his own mortality (yes, tissues were in full circulation).

*** Getting the whole room up and dancing to “Imma Be” by the Black Eyed Peas as my staff ran around in Bee Costumes (this was hilarious)…yes, pictures will be coming soon.

*** The laser hot-seat sessions where one woman, for the first time EVER, shared her very emotional story about bringing down the Berlin Wall and risking her life to take a stand for freedom (thanks Vinca…that was so powerful).

*** And of course, the content was so fun and cutting-edge as we covered things like: the only 4 ways to fill up your events, my exact scientific system for inspiring 30-50% of your room to say YES to your next-step offerings, how to create your own 1-4 hour intro events that are inexpensive to produce and make awesome money, and the 9 hidden ways to make more money from every event you produce.

There were a lot of reasons why this event was our best one yet.

Here are a few:

1) We went super narrow and deep with who this event was for: spiritually centered, purpose-driven entrepreneurs who wanted to put on their own seminars.

… As a result, we attracted those exact people and were able to create an experience that was customized to meet their needs.

This is a fundamental ingredient of a great event. Go narrow and deep.

Make sense?

2) I used my own “Invitation Selling System” to the T, and I didn’t get creative or deviate.

When you are a creative being, the tendency is to keep wanting to try new things. Sometimes that is really great. Yet when a system works, it works…and you just have to stick to it if you want to get results.

3) We didn’t hide anything from the participants.

Meaning, we told everyone that we were going to deliver a massively powerful experience AND that we were going to be selling stuff to them. Lisa Sasevich (who showed up to rock our world with an awesome talk as well) calls this “Partnership From The Start“.

You don’t have to be sneaky and slimy to make great money in business. You simply need to be honest and authentic. Well, you also need to learn how to market and sell with heart and power (but that’s another story).

Look, we were there to serve AND to invite the right people to keep learning and growing with us. And guess what….with that energy and intention, it happened.

… I’ll share more about the event, plus photos and videos, in the near future. We’ll still unwinding from the amazingness (yes, that’s a word) of it all….so more to come soon.

Where We’re Going Now

Now that this event is over, here’s the scoop…

We don’t have ANYTHING else planned for you.

No launches. No events. No nothing.

In fact, we even canceled stuff.

… Because we have two core intentions for the rest of the year:

1) Spend time with the people we love (in my case, it’s my family).

2) Figure out what we want to do next.

I’m sharing this with you for a few reasons.

ONE: because my plan is to really get back into the creative zone and share some cool content and stories with you over the next few months. That will be fun for both of us…yes?

TWO: because I want to know what you want us to talk about / do for you.

We’ve got a clean slate now. How can we serve you in the greatest way?

Geez, at this point. I’ve got some many things I could teach you I don’t even know where to start. haha.

So if something comes to mind, please share it below.

Do You Really Want Things To Take Off?

Let me tell you a little story.

One month before this last event, I was totally stuck and depressed.

… The situation with my dad felt too hard to deal with, I was struggling to run the business, I felt alone, tired, and utterly deflated.

I stayed in this funk for a few weeks…and it was painful.

… Yet I knew that this energy would pass, if I allowed it.

And after a few well-timed experiences, including getting powerful guidance from the amazing Jeffrey Van Dyke and also clearing my mind in the desert for a few days, something profound happened.

My “WHY” became HUGE!

I realized that the reason for me to step up and kick butt at this event was so that I could fully detach and really focus on my family.

Meaning, the very same situation that was caused me to feel depressed became the reason that I had to really step up and make sh*t happen.

And with that new insight, the fire that got lit underneath me was like nothing I had ever experienced.

… And with that energy, I filled almost 50 seats in less than 30 days.

I unlocked a magic box with a golden key

Now I realize something that will become a huge guiding force in my teachings.

That when your “WHY” becomes clear, specific, and important enough, nothing will stop you from getting to where you want to go.

Which means that the reason you’re in business, doing what you do, serving who you do, is SO IMPORTANT!!

… Yet often lost.

Because you get bogged down by tactics, strategies, deadlines, employees, set-backs, etc.

And then the reason WHY you’re doing what you’re doing fades.

So to end this very long (sorry) letter to you, ask yourself the question:

“WHY are you doing what you are doing?”

And don’t just answer. Really get down to it.

What’s really driving you forward?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this, or anything else in this incredibly long rambling letter, right below.

Much love,

Max

P.S. Thanks for being in this tribe. I feel grateful for you right now…

Preparing for something BIG…

In a few days, I’ll be leading our biggest SOLD-OUT event to date called Sold-Out Seminar Secrets (the room is going to be packed)…

… and I have to admit, it’s bringing up all sorts of fears and considerations in me.

“Am I going to do a good job?”

“Am I ready for this?”

“Will people really transform?”

Now mind you, I have produced hundreds of events and spoken to tens of thousands of people from all over the world.

Not to mention the fact that the content and process we’re taking people through during this event is the most advanced and transformational experience I’m aware of…

… and still, these same pesky thoughts come up in me, just about every time I put on an event.

(And the more successful we get, the louder the voices become.)

As I was meditating this morning

I had an interesting thought:

“You get scared when you’re doing something new, and doing something new means you’re growing.”

“And if you’re devoted to your own growth, it means that little energy of “fear” is a perfect sign that you’re moving in the right direction.”

So essentially, every time you feel afraid to do something new, that’s a good thing.

Which almost means that you WANT to feel a little bit of that fear energy, because it will show you that you’re growing, evolving, and stepping up into a bigger place.

Messes with your mind a little, doesn’t it?

Because we’re always taught to fear is bad. That fear keeps us playing small. That fear is the big bad enemy.

But what if it was just telling us that we’re preparing for something big?

Would that change the way you think and feel about it?

Because it has for me. Big time…

Now, I get that feeling inside, those little butterfly’s, and it fires me up.

… Because I know that something extra cool is brewin’.

I would love to hear your thoughts below…

Does this make any sense? Does it resonate? Am I crazy?

What can you add to this weird little conversation…

Much love,

Max

P.S. I’ll post pictures and videos from our big event for you right when we get them icon smile Preparing for something BIG...

Help…

I have a personal story and a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT to share with you (so please read this whole thing)…

Next week, I’ll be leading the biggest event we’ve ever put on called Sold-Out Seminar Secrets (the room is going to be packed!).

It’s where I teach you exactly what I’ve done to fill up event after event with the perfect tribe who show up strong, participate fully, and are thrilled to invest large sums of money to keep learning and growing with me.

… And how you can do the same.

Now let me let you in on a little secret.

About a month ago, I was scared to death about this event.

… Because enrollments were not going well and I was right in the thick of a really emotional process with my father (who is going through chemo and radiation for his brain tumor).

And to be honest, I had lost all of my motivation to do, well….anything.

Seriously, I couldn’t sit down to write an email. I had no creativity. I was struggling to lead the team.

And I just felt like a loser (ouch).

But something really cool happened.

After a few weeks of being in my funk, I started reaching out for help.

I spoke to my coaches. I dove back into learning and growth. I opened myself up to hearing what other people had to say.

… And rather quickly, my energy started to shift.

Then, my creativity came back and I devised a strategy to fill up our event…and in just 9 days, we filled the remaining 27 seats (which by the way, I’ll be teaching at the event).

And it helped me:

* Remember that we can’t do it alone.

* Remember that we all need help.

* Remember that the answers to our problems are out there.

* Remember to trust.

So I’m writing you this letter today as a friend, to remind you to open up the space inside of yourself to get help.

It’s not easy to admit that we need help…for any of us.

We have a lot of shame and guilt around asking for support.

… Because we all want to believe that we can do it on our own.

But we can’t…and we should stop trying to.

… Because this “so-called recession” is just a reflection of everyone trying to do it on their own instead of simply saying YES to help from others.

Right?

Right.

So that leads me to my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT…

And I’m just going to get right to the point here.

This Sold-Out Seminar Secrets Live Event (happening Sept 30 – Oct 2 in San Diego) will be MY LAST live event for the foreseeable future.

Why?

Because my family needs my help right now.

… And I’m not going to ignore that calling.

So I’m not sure what that means for the future of my business (because we are a live event company)…

… But I’m sure everything will be fine (because it always is).

So YOU HAVE ONE FINAL CHANCE to join me live.

Seeing as though this will be our last live event, I decided to open up registration for Sold-Out Seminar Secrets one final time in case you wanted to move mountains to be there.

We’ve only got a few seats left (I think 4 or 5 to be exact) so I would love for you to get one of them.

YOU CAN REGISTER HERE

Otherwise, I don’t know when I’ll get to see you LIVE anytime soon.

But regardless of whether you make it to this event or not, do yourself a favor and be courageous enough to get help.

You have problems that someone else can help you solve. You have desires that someone else can help you satisfy.

And if you’re not getting the help and support you need, you’re being a bad model for others (and this is probably the reason your business is struggling).

… Because if you can’t get the help you need, why do you think people will come to you to get the help they need?

Got it?

Good. Me too.

If you have thoughts, I would love to hear them.

Just post a comment below.

Much love,

Max

P.S. My dad is going to make a special guest appearance at our live event so this is an extra unique opportunity to see us both together live.

The Great Paradox – The Business of Service

The business of helping other people is RICH with paradox.

Let me explain…

On one hand, you have a deep burning desire to be in service, to genuinely help others, and to make a beautifully positive impact on the world.

On the other hand, your business is about creating your own ideal lifestyle, building your own credibility and authority, and doing things that you love and that light you up.

So the question is: “How do we find balance amongst these two seemingly opposing forces?

And the answer is completely hidden and is totally obvious at the same time.

… don’t you love paradox?

Here’s what I believe…

I have a few sayings that I find myself repeating over and over again, both in my head and at our live events.

One in particular is: “Be a great model of an Enlightened Entrepreneur.”

… Which means that every decision you make is guided from that place of demonstrating what it looks and feels like to be a heart-centered business leader.

Here’s where it gets tricky.

What happens when you have two conflicting desires pulling at you at the same time and there’s no clear direction about how to be a good model?

For example, here’s a personal example.

As you probably know, I’m working on a documentary movie about the process me and our entire community is going through around my father dealing with his brain cancer.

… It’s really interesting to see what happens when a man who has touched and transformed the lives of millions of people goes through the process of embracing his own mortality.

So imagine this.

On one hand, I’m telling a story that has the capacity to reach millions and millions of people. So I’m inspired, creative, and engaged. Besides, what better way to get a message out than movies.

On the other side, this entire project is about my dad dying.

… And that just hurts.

Paradox.

So what to do?

The answer is simple. Kind of…

You get clear on what you love, on what you want, and on what’s most important to you…

… and then you utilize this energy to be in service, to make a difference in the world, and to help others.

If your focus sways too far to the side of yourself, people will stop responding to you.

If you post blogs and nobody comments. If you put out programs and nobody buys. If you are speaking but nobody is listening…those are signs.

You’re too much in your own saga.

And you need to shift…

The Flip Side

Yet if you are giving, and giving, and giving, and at the end of the day, you feel like you’ve given yourself away…that’s a sign too.

Are you taking time to do what serves you? Are you saying NO often? Are you feeling energized and inspired at the end of the day?

Because it’s important to embrace that you are being a BAD MODEL if you’re giving so much that you’re feeling depleted and out of inspiration.

Nobody wants to be a martyr.

The Answer

Try this little exercise.

Answer this question: “What do you do in your business that you love the most and are absolutely awesome at?”

Get clear on that by looking at what you’ve done, what you’ve accomplished, and what you stand for. Essentially, this is the “YOUR STORY” piece.

Then answer this question: “How does this talent of yours truly help other people?”

How can you take this expertise and shift your entire focus towards being in service? Because your business is not about you. Your business is about the people you help.

And then, focus all of your energy on telling people how you acquired this skill (to build some credibilty and trust)…but more importantly, how important it is to you to use this energy to help others.

Do you see how funny this game is?

Where my shift happened.

Just the other day, I realized that I’m totally SICK & TIRED of telling my own story.

Mostly because I don’t really want to talk about myself anymore.

But more importantly, because I am in such a deep place of wanting to help others that my little old story seems almost insignificant now.

And in a funny way, that’s good place to be because now, I have freedom to cut through the crap and just get into what’s important: answering the question “how can I help you?”

Ahh….paradox.

It’s rich. And confusing. And deep. And weird.

Ahh….paradox.
